MedMal Verdict

On October 9, 2025, BMF Partner Tara Clary and Attorney Fiona Puglese achieved a significant $1.2 million verdict on behalf of their client in a medical malpractice lawsuit against Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) in Baltimore County. The plaintiffs, Andrea Faulcon and Charles Faulcon, sought justice for the tragic death of their loved one, Angela Faulcon.

Case Summary:

On February 17, 2023, 77-year-old Angela Faulcon underwent a colorectal resection at GBMC for early-stage rectal cancer. During the procedure, she suffered severe bleeding. Our team successfully proved that GBMC and its employed colorectal surgeon were negligent in failing to anticipate and prepare for such a serious complication. The hospital did not have critical medical equipment available that could have stopped the life-threatening hemorrhage, and the surgical team failed to take appropriate measures to control the bleeding. As a result, Mrs. Faulcon went into cardiac arrest and tragically died on the operating table.

The Result:

The jury recognized the devastating consequences of the hospital’s negligence and returned a verdict of $1,200,000 in favor of Andrea Faulcon, honoring the loss of her beloved mother and holding the hospital accountable for its failures.
