EXPERIENCE

Christopher M. Somerville is an associate attorney at the firm’s Baltimore office where he focuses on medical malpractice. Chris hails from Baltimore County, Maryland, graduating from the Park School of Baltimore before receiving his bachelor’s degree in marketing communication, cum laude, from Emerson College in Boston. Chris worked in account management in the pharmaceutical advertising and insurance industries before attending law school at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. While in law school, he participated in a year-long clinical program, which partnered with the University of Maryland Medical System to provide legal aid to individuals living with HIV to reduce stressors that can exacerbate health conditions. As a Rule 19 student attorney, Chris successfully argued a motion in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and was a part of a small team of students who litigated a Landlord/Tenant matter that went to bench trial. In addition to his work in the clinical program, Chris also clerked for a local firm assisting with personal injury litigation.

Following graduation, Chris clerked for the Hon. Julie R. Rubin at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City (before Judge Rubin’s appointment to the United States District Court for the District of Maryland). After his clerkship, Chris worked at a medical malpractice firm where he specialized in nursing home negligence.
